I got really ticked off today...?
... I have been banking with the same bank for several years and saw no reason to change when I moved. Everything works out of direct deposit so I've never given it another thought. I received a check I decided to get cash. Maybe I live in some fantasy world but I thought if a check was issued out of bank "A" they had to cash it at that bank. I went in the first time and my state issued drivers license wasn't sufficient So I went back home and later that afternoon returned to cash my check (with my License, Birth Certificate, Pport, 4 Credit Cards, and Marriage certificate,). Can you guess I'm already miffed. Anyway, we start this arduous process of cashing my check. Then she tells me I can save money by opening an account there. To which I responded "It's going to cost me to cash a check drafted by your bank?" and yeah they wanted to charge me. I got up, subtly voiced my opinion and left promising never to do any business with them. Is this normal banking? Does it tick you off?
