Is the Remington 700 CDL "Boone & Crockett" in 30-06 a good first rifle?

Looking to buy my first rifle for hunting this year. Have settled on this model and caliber. Any objections? I am ping on the Tikka based on the plastic, but I am still somewhat leaning towards the X-Bolt. I don't know, looking for help. Thanks guys.
