Do cons get mad at scientists because the media exagerates problems?

Scientists have actually said that they have (and need to) exaggerate global warming so that people will feel compelled to act. Scientists aren't just altruistic little do-gooders tucked away in some laboratory underneath the Earth's crust - they're competing for jobs, attention, and government grants just like people in other professions and they absolutely have an incentive to lie about or exaggerate their research or conclusions.
