My child has to fundraise for 8th Grade trip to D.C. need ideas? We live in HI so cost is a lot?

My son is looking for a fun way to raise money for his 8th Grade cl trip to D.C. The school has already done fundraising for the trip but we need more since we live in Hawaii any suggestions regarding sponsorship for the whole cl would be great or personal sponsorship. Any suggestions for single person fundraising would be great as well.
