Is wind bad for baby's ears?

Just wondering if this was an old wives tale or not. I've heard it's bad to take a baby out if it's windy because it can cause ear infections. I have a 3 year old and she gets bored in the house...it was a nice sunny day outside so we played outside for 2 hours and I also had my 6 month old outside too...it was 60 or 65 degrees outside, but just a little windy and my baby didn't want anything on her ears....just wondering if the wind can make a baby sick. Thanks (I did keep a light blanket around her ears after a little while and it wasn't really too windy...just a little chilly).
