Can you get a loan by using a paid off title on a mobile home in tx?

I need money to get another car because the only one I have has died big time and I can't afford repairs. I need a newer, more dependable one. My mobile home is paid off and only 5 yrs old. My credit stinks so I am having trouble getting a loan that way. If I have a more sizeable down payment, I think I could almost pay a car off or be approved for very little payments short term. HELP ASAP Pls!!!!!
