Backpacking through Euro. Costs and suggestions?

Two people want to go backpacking. SOme of the countries that we plan to visit are Scotland, Ireland, countryside of England, Germany and Italy. Do you have suggestions of places to visit there and how much it would cost per day. Also what would be the best way to travel to these countries. By the way,the length would be 6 weeks
